NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.
Our Scripture classes are delivered on Monday afternoons from 2.00pm – 2.30pm.
On enrolment parents/carers are given the Special Religions Education Participation Letter to complete and return. Any changes to a child's S.R.E enrolment during their school years should be made in writing to the school office.
Scripture classes offered at Mount Kembla Public School are Anglican and Catholic:
- Anglican Scripture is provided by the Wollongong Region of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. More information about, including the authorised curriculum scope and sequence, please visit the Anglican Diocese of Sydney website http://www.sydneyanglican.net/
- Catholic Scripture is provided by the Catholic Diocese of Wollongong. More information about the Catholic SRE, including the authorised curriculum scope and sequence, please visit the Catholic Diocese of Wollongong website https://www.ccdwollongong.com/
Students not attending scripture are given supervised alternative meaningful activities.
Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.
